Tuna Salad Recipe


If you understand tuna salad, you know this recipe is a platform from which to launch many tasty salads.  You can add shredded carrots, cheese, chopped olives, dill relish, mustard or other ingredients for a wide variety of flavors.  Just remember to consider the changes in sodium, fat,  calories, etc.

Makes: 5 servings
Serving size: 1/2 cup
Each serving provides:
Calories: 146
Total fat: 7 g
Saturated fat: 1 g
Cholesterol: 25 mg
Sodium: 158 mg
Total fiber: 1 g
Protein: 16 g
Carbohydrates: 4 g
Potassium: 201 mg


2 can (6 oz each) tuna, water pack
1/2 C raw celery, chopped
1/3 C green onions, chopped
61/2 Tbsp mayonnaise, reduced fat

Cooking Instructions:

1. Rinse and drain tuna for 5 minutes. Break apart with fork.
2. Add celery, onion, and mayonnaise, and mix well.
