Health Benefits And Uses For Cinnamon: 

For people with Type II Diabetes, 1-6 grams of cinnamon per day can reduce blood glucose 18-29%, triglyceride 23-30%, LDL cholesterol 7-27%, according to the National Institutes Of Health NIH.  It can also be used for gestational diabetes.

Some believe cinnamon may be helpful as a preventative for certain types of cancer and even may aid in the treatment.  Also, many believe arthritis pain can be relieved by eating cinnamon and honey (1/2 tsp:1tbsp) daily.  I've seen websites claim the NIH confirms these claims, but I haven't found the reports. 

Toxicity Symptoms/Side Effects Of Cinnamon: 

Consult your doctor before supplementing with cinnamon.  Use Cinnamon powder rather than oil, to reduce risk.  Very high doses of cinnamon can be fatal.  Supplementation can cause adverse reactions to some medications.  Most common toxicity symptoms include allergic reaction, itching, problems with mucous membranes.

Some adverse side effects include facial flushing, increased heart rate, stomach and respiratory irritations and periodontal disease.

Though they do not test food supplements, the FDA has listed cinnamon powder as generally safe as a spice and food supplement.  Should be harmless at 1 gram per day.

Supplements Of Cinnamon:

You can find supplements in bulk powder, capsule, pill and oil.  Powder and powder capsule forms are safest.
