Causes Of Acne: 

Acne is the general name for several diseases with similar symptoms.  Acne is not caused by eating fatty foods, eating chocolate, sexual activity or inadequate washing...sorry Mom.  Actually, one of the causes is excessive washing.  Other causes include various medical drugs, industrial pollutants and chemicals, oils, cosmetics and rubbing.  Also, increased testosterone levels in teenage males is a significant cause of some types of acne.  Sometimes Yeast Infections can make episodes of Acne far more severe.

Signs And Symptoms Of Acne:

Acne occurs primarily in the scalp and face but can also be found on chest, shoulders and back.  We all know the various forms of bumps, called pimples, blackheads, whiteheads which often erupt and sometimes are inflamed and infected.  Some forms of acne can spread and leave deep scarring.

Treatment Of Acne:

While there are medicines that can help for serious and infected acne conditions, home treatment is probably the best in most cases.  See your doctor if infection sets in or if your home treatment doesn't help.

Acne Home Remedies-What You Can Do:

First...some "Don'ts"!  Don't try to pop or lance the bumps because this can lead to serious infection and can help spread some forms of Acne.  Don't wash excessively or use abrasive scrubs because these things actually make the Acne worse.

Follow a normal skin cleansing routine with mild soap and gentle astringents.  Follow a well-balanced,  low fat diet and aerobic exercise routine.  To help fight Acne you can Supplement your diet with natural Multi-Vitamins and Multi-Minerals, along with extra doses of the following:

Antioxidants; including Beta Carotene, Flavonoids, Vitamin A, Zinc, Vitamin E, Vitamin C and CoQ10.
Lipoic Acid; at least 200 mg divided into 2-3 doses per day.
Organic Germanium; 300-450mg divided into 3 doses a day.
Fiber; 12-15 grams extra from vegetable sources or supplements.
Omega 3; 3 per day, 1 at beginning of each meal.
Lecithin; taken with the Omega 3.
Garlic; 3 cloves per day.
Drinking Clean Water; 2-3 quarts daily.
