Hypertension-What Is It

What Causes Hypertension And What Is It?

Hypertension is a fancy word for high blood pressure.  While the direct cause of Hypertension is unknown, family genes and lifestyle play a large role.  Some of the factors contributing to Hypertension are race, male sex, heart problems, high cholesterol, Diabetes, too much salt, smoking, too much weight, too much caffeine, stress and alcoholism.

Signs And Symptoms Of Hypertension:

Many people with Hypertension have no symptoms.  It's good to monitor your blood pressure regularly so you can detect any problems ahead of time.  When Hypertension symptoms appear, they include dizziness, headache, red face, fatigue, cramps or cardiovascular problems.  These symptoms are usually associated with other diseases.

Treatment Of Hypertension:

Hypertension can often be controlled with lifestyle changes.  Ask your doctor what you can change in your lifestyle to reduce or eliminate the need for medicines.  If you do need medicine, make sure you're making the appropriate lifestyle changes to give the meds a chance to work.

What You Can Do About Hypertension:

The best things to do about Hypertension include a low salt low fat diet and aerobic exerciseQuit smoking and keep your coffee below 4 cups per day (for espresso drinkers...that's one shot).  To help fight the causes of this disease and to overcome deficiencies caused by medical drugs you can supplement your diet with natural Multi-Vitamins and Multi-Minerals, along with extra doses of the following:

Antioxidants; including Beta Carotene, Flavonoids, Vitamin A, Zinc, Vitamin E, Vitamin C and CoQ10.
Lipoic Acid; at least 200 mg divided into 2-3 doses per day.
Organic Germanium; 300-450mg divided into 3 doses a day.
Fiber; 12-15 grams extra from vegetable sources or supplements.
Omega 3; 3 per day, 1 at beginning of each meal.
Lecithin; taken with the Omega 3.
